Same licence, different themes

The terms are the same at all 21 casinos, so you can pick by theme and game count. They share identical general terms (version 1.19), which means the welcome package and limits are the same everywhere. The withdrawal rules are identical too.

The look does differ. Nords Casino, SvenPlay, Taika Spins and Lapilanders have Nordic themes; Scarawins has an Egyptian theme, while BetsAmigo has a Spanish one. Game count is another difference: most have 14,000+ or 15,000+, compared with about 5,000 at Freespinza.

The Swedish cashier also differs: BonusBet has no Instant Banking there.

The dots show how many of our 12 checks each casino passes. Of the 21 casinos, 18 pass all 12. That is a count of checks passed, not a sign that their welcome package or withdrawal rules are different.

What is an MGA casino?

An MGA casino is an online casino licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), Malta’s gambling regulator. In Swedish, these are searched for as «MGA casino» and «casino utan svensk licens», meaning casino without a Swedish licence.

The list on this page has 21 MGA casinos that accept players from Sweden in October 2026. All 21 hold the same licence, MGA/B2C/233/2013, issued on 2 July 2013 to L.C.S Limited (company number C-64070, Ta' Xbiex, Malta). They are brands on one platform.

They have no licence from Spelinspektionen, the Swedish gambling authority. In the terms we checked, Sweden is not among the excluded countries in section 2.6.4. They also run campaigns aimed at Sweden.

Accounts are in euro, so your account balance is in euros rather than Swedish kronor. Support is available around the clock by live chat and e-mail in English, German, Spanish, Norwegian and Finnish. Swedish is not on the list.

New MGA casinos

Scarawins is the newest on our list, with its domain registered on 25 October 2024.

The casinos do not state when they launched, so we sort them by domain registration dates from RDAP, read 11 October 2026. A registration date shows when the address was bought, not when the casino opened.

Next are Lucky Trunk and Chalkwins (both 1 July 2024), Taika Spins (16 October 2023), Rise of Bets (19 April 2023) and FoggyBet (14 March 2023).

The new ones share the same licence, company and terms as the older ones. You get a new theme and design, with the same terms.

How to check an MGA licence

You check an MGA licence by comparing the licence number in the casino footer with the general terms, then looking it up in the MGA’s public licensee register.

The footer must show the number in the format MGA/B2C/number/year. Compare that with section 1.1 of the general terms, where all 21 casinos give their licence details. Next, check section 2.6.4 to make sure Sweden is not excluded. Then look up the number in the register at mga.org.mt.

We check the footer and terms for every casino, including the excluded-country section. We also check the cashier and bonus terms, and note the date. The register is a web application we cannot read automatically, so that last step is yours.

On the Swedish page, Licenskollen checks whether a licence number has the right format and is in our file. That is a format and file check, not a lookup in the MGA register.

Are winnings from MGA casinos tax-free in Sweden?

Winnings from an MGA casino are not automatically tax-free.

The Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) says a win is tax-free if it is 100 kronor or less. It is also tax-free if the game has a Swedish licence, or if it does not require a Swedish licence and targets a market in an EEA country.

For wins over 100 kronor, tax applies to games targeting the Swedish market that require a Swedish licence when the operator has none. Online games that do not target a market within the EEA are also taxable.

Skatteverket’s own example is someone playing online poker with a company on Malta that targets the Swedish market without a Swedish licence. Those winnings are taxable.

Swedish text and marketing in Sweden are signs that a site targets Sweden, according to Skatteverket. Deposits and withdrawals in Swedish kronor are another sign. These examples are not exhaustive.

The casinos on our list have no Swedish language version and use euro accounts, but they run campaigns aimed at Sweden. We do not say how that is assessed.

Tax is 30% of net winnings: total wins minus total stakes in a calendar year, calculated separately for each operator. Losses at one operator cannot be set against wins at another.

You declare net winnings as capital income, under item 7.2 of the Swedish tax return.

Bonuses: two routes

All 21 offer a welcome package of 250% up to €4,000 plus up to 4,000 free spins over three deposits.

The first deposit gets 150% up to €2,000, with wagering of 40x deposit + bonus. That means you must bet the combined deposit and bonus amount 40 times. The second gets 100% up to €2,000, with 35x deposit + bonus wagering. The third gives up to 4,000 free spins on Big Bass Splash at €0.10 each; winnings must be wagered 30x.

The minimum deposit is €20 per step, and you have 30 days to complete wagering. The max bet is €5 while a bonus is active: that is the limit for each bet.

Alternatively, depositing by Instant Bank Transfer lets you choose 200% up to €1,000, with 25x deposit + bonus wagering within 7 days.

At €20, route A gives a €30 bonus and €2,000 to wager (€50 × 40). Route B gives a €40 bonus and €1,500 to wager (€60 × 25). The alternative gives you a bigger bonus and less to wager at that deposit size, but a shorter deadline.

The reload is 150% up to €500 via Instant Bank Transfer, available unlimited times, with 20x wagering within 7 days. Weekly cashback is 5–20% on lost deposits, up to €5,000, with 1x wagering.

You can use Instant Banking in the Swedish cashier at 20 of the 21 casinos, with BonusBet the exception.

Visa, Mastercard, MiFinity, Neosurf, Flexepin and CashLib are available at all 21. Jeton appears at just one: BetsAmigo. None of the 21 offers Trustly, Swish, BankID, Pay N Play, Apple Pay or crypto. You open a normal account with e-mail and password.

The minimum deposit is €20, and your account currency is euro.

For withdrawals, the terms we checked say processing takes place within 72 hours after the payments team approves the withdrawal. You must provide ID before your first withdrawal.

That “after” does quite a bit of work. The 72 hours is not a promise that the money will reach you within 72 hours of making the request: approval comes first, then processing, with the payment method’s own transfer time following the 72-hour window. The casinos do not state how long that transfer takes. The wording gives you a processing deadline, not an arrival date.

Withdrawal limits are €5,000 per day and €25,000 per calendar month. The calendar-month wording matters: this is not described as a rolling monthly limit. Wins over €30,000 may be paid in monthly instalments rather than in one payment.
